The folk ensemble Váh from Liptowsky Mikuláš this year is celebrating 35 years anniversary of activity. They are from the most picturesque region of Slovakia surrounding the Tatra (High, Western
and Low), Choczańskie mountains and Great Fatra.
It was established with the aim of protecting the folklore music of Liptov and neighbouring regions and dances from other parts of Slovakia, such as, Orava and Spis, also, Horehronie.
It is organised by two artists chorographers- Miroslava Palanová and Mária Palásthyová and have their own orchestra.

Currently they work with the Slovak Academy of the Army Forces. Throughout the years Váh group have several times triumphed at national and international folk festivals, including in Hungary, Sweden, Poland, Italy, Portugal and France.
In Zakopane our neighbours from Liptovsky Mikuláš will present the program, “In the Šuňavskiej Krčmičky” (dance from the village Šuaňva), also “Do Skoku a do Krutu nad tou Vyšnejsou” (dances from Liptovskych Sliačov).
