In the northern part of Greece by the Aegean Sea stretches the historical land of Greek Macedonia. The region is divided into three parts: Western Macedonia, Macedonia Central, Western Macedonia and Thrace. The highest peak of the region is endowed with mythological fame is Olympus (2,900 metres a.s.l.) The biggest city in the region and also the second largest city in Greece is Thessaloniki. In Thessaloniki in 2012 the group “The Association of Agios Loannis of Theologos” was created.

The group has already participated in festivals, both in Greece and abroad (Romania, Turkey and Spain). Dancers represent the Macedonian regional dances and typical dances of other regions of Greece, including of course, the famous Syrtaki dance.
